Outline: This workshop will start by discussing disability and disadvantage in Australia, cover the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and look at conformance and management issues. We will then look at addressing special needs including assistive technology, accessible methodology and common pitfalls, and finish the day looking at a range of evaluation and repair tools and their pros and cons. During the workshop we will look at a range of Web sites, including those of the participants, with various assistive technologies and evaluation tools. Participants will gain a good understanding of why accessibility is important and enough knowledge to start assessing their own Web sites and implementing the WAI Guidelines. Extensive resources will be provided and there will be ample time for discussion and questions.
