Title: WWW: Making a Difference in Health

Outline: This full day workshop will focus on the use of the Web and IP-based services in the health sector. Run in conjunction with the Centre for Health Informatics at Curtin University of Technology (http://chi.curtin.edu.au ), the workshop is aimed at those either using WWW technologies to support health service delivery, or those practitioners, educators and technicians interested in this rapidly expanding field.

The workshop content is planned to provide a showcase of innovative uses of Web-based technologies in the region, where we can discuss what works, what doesn't and what is needed to further rollout these technologies to improve health outcomes.

It is anticipated that the day will conclude with a plenary session focusing on the HealthConnect program and the contemporary issues in planning and implementing a national health network.


Biography: Gregg is the inaugural Director of the Centre for Health Informatics at Curtin University of Technology. He has some 25 years experience in IS&T, practicing in both Australia and the UK and is currently an Adjunct Senior Fellow with the Graduate School of Business at Curtin University of Technology, where he lectures on Strategic Information Management and e-Business for Strategic Advantage. His academic background includes information systems, information analysis, systems development, IS planning, information management, technology innovation and e-Commerce management.
