Abstract

The advent of XML [XML98] has made it possible for a great variety of document types, or DTDs, to co-exist. Questions then arise about how developers can write DTDs and associated software and tools that are interoperable to one another, and how to maintain data integrity between documents and changing DTDs. These DTDs are typically versions of the same document type that evolves over time, or may even be those developed for different but overlapping domains. This paper reports our work done in this area. In this paper, we assume some knowledge of object-oriented technology from the reader.
