Abstract

Current Web modelling languages fail to address some aspect of Web systems, particularly higher-level information aspect. In response to this we have proposed WIED - a set of information modelling notation addressing this concern. Previously the WIED has been illustrated using custom notations that are consistent with WebML. Due to the acceptance of UML as a de facto standard for modelling, we develop a set of UML-compliant notations for representing the various WIED entities. So, this leads to new ability of the WIED to form bridges to other models in UML modelled system. In this paper we provide guidelines for supporting the derivation of the WIED model to these different models, thereby providing a concrete link between them. We illustrate these guidelines with a detailed example.
