Abstract
The Australian Plant Pest Database (APPD) is a Web-based virtual
database of vital importance to the Australian agricultural industry.
The APPD contains specimen based information on over a million plant
pests and diseases that occur in Australia. The existence of the APPD
is owed to a major collaboration between Industry, State and Federal Governments,
research organisations and universities. The APPD program is supported
and managed by Plant Health Australia and the Australian Government
Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
