About AusWeb08 Conference Registration
AusWeb has traditionally held the annual conference at a venue that is well equipped in terms of meeting rooms, A/V and 24hr free wireless connectivity as well as somewhere you will enjoy visiting and staying, preferably a resort-style property on or near the sub-tropical or tropical east coast of Australia (we know our overseas delegates especially appreciate this). This has seen the conference move between the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour and for one year north to Cairns. This year we are going back to where it all started in 1995 - at Ballina and the Ballina Beach Resort.
This year you can choose to stay on site at the conference venue, the Ballina Beach Resort or enjoy the new Ramada Hotel and Suites in Ballina on the river and near the CBD. Your package still includes all the regular items such as conference registration, conference materials, two nights accommodation (Sunday 6th and Monday 7th April), all meals from Sunday lunch to Tuesday afternoon tea, the Conference Dinner and all drinks and the Conference BBQ. A coach transfer will be in operation between the Ramada and Ballina Beach Resort or if you prefer to walk it's a pleasant 15 minutes along the rivers edge.
Many other conferences start by charging a registration fee, then charge extra for things like the conference dinner and even dinner drinks. You also have to arrange and pay for your own breakfasts and other meals and arrange your own accommodation and connecting transport. These extra cost soon add up. The all inclusive packages we offer for this years conference are good value when you add up what is included. Over the years we have had a lot of positive feedback from delegates who appreciate this package arrangement.
This year the AusWeb Conference offers a number of registration packages for you to choose. We have been able to absorb inflation costs so you will find the main 2008 conference package fee unchanged from 2007. What is different this year is that there is a choice of two accommodation venues: the Ballina Beach Resort or the Ramada Hotel and Suites (on the River near the Ballina CBD and a 15 minutes walk to the Beach Resort). This is necessary (as it was in 1995) as while the facilities are adequate at the Ballina Beach Resort they are not sufficient to accommodate all delegates. Block booked rooms at both resorts will be filled on a first come first served basis so if you have a preference register early.
We also realise that some people can sometimes arrange accommodation with friends or relatives or that they prefer to organise their own accommodation so we do offer a no accommodation, no breakfast option. We have lowered been able to lower this price for 2008.
