Cyberpreneurship or Entrepreneurship on the Internet

Russell Knight RKNIGHT@SCU.EDU.AU

Russ says:
"My name is Russ Knight and I have been tired of the hype about the zillions
of businesses conducting business (making sales) on the Internet. Other
than surveys of surfers such as the GVU effort at Georgia Tech, or the
Hermes project at U. Michigan and the Vanderbilt Project 2000, there isn't
much real research about businesses on the Internet. Activ Media will sell
you the results of their survey, but without any details before you buy it.

So I set out to try a survey of my own, starting with the 100 businesses
with home pages in my home town of London, Ontario. I received replies from
75 firms so far and I will present those results at AusWeb96.

Firms will be listed by industry, with their primary reasons for having a
home page, where their staff obtained their training, current and future
applications of the Internet and advantages and disadvantages of their
Intenet connection.

If anyone is interested in helping me broaden the survey to other
locations, such as Australia, please get in touch. I'm down at Southern
Cross for a year teaching on their new Doctor of Business Administration
program."
