AusWeb96 - Example Theme

An Intranet Checklist

David Wood dwood@plugged.net.au

David says about himself:
I am working with a great team at Plugged In developing commercial business
applications in Java. We are having fun with it and waiting with anticipation for the day when it becomes stable enough to release into the commercial world. Recently, I've agreed to teach SunService courses in Brisbane on the Internet and Java.

And his 'Formal' bio:
David Wood is an Internet technology consultant and Java developer. He has consulted on security and Web development at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and with Netscape Communications. David is Managing Director and head of the Communications Technology Department at Plugged In Communications Pty Ltd, Brisbane.

He says about the paper:
"I am hoping to present a generic roadmap for building an intranet. The paper will focus on the common building blocks of intranets and how to apply them to as many situations as possible. After this presentation, an attendees should be able to evaluate technologies for intranets in terms of their usefulness in their own organisation."
