Tim says that:
"Being involved in IT for many years I have become increasingly concerned
about the low numbers of women using information technology. This has
prompted me to become involved in educating as well as researching women's'
use of technology in particular the Internet."
Peta says that:
"One and a half years ago when commencing employment with the University
of
South Australia I had very little experience with Information Technology,
and since then I have spent considerable time becoming involved in various
aspects of our School IT program. This includes setting up an elective
subject on Exploring Women's Health Issues through the Internet.
I have a particular interest in the social implications of Information
Technology on Society, and more specifically how women are involved and
interact with IT."
Tim & Peta say about their poster:
"Our poster presents a collage of research findings exploring the questions
'As more women go online, is the Internet still a man's world?' and 'How
are women socialising and interacting with computer technology.'
This snap-shot in time explores the social issues of the Internet with a
particular emphasis on women."
