Introduction to Conrad Jupiters on the Gold Coast
AusWeb96 will be held at Conrad Jupiters on Queensland's Gold
Coast. The Gold Coast is 80km south of Brisbane and is linked by freeway
and by high speed rail links from Brisbane.
The Gold Coast is South East Queensland's major tourist destination with
the attraction of more than 30km of beautiful beaches including the world
renowned Surfers Paradise beach (51kb)
alongside which runs the Indy Car races. In addition, it hosts four theme
parks (Sea World, Warner Brothers Movie World, Dreamworld and Wet 'n Wild)
so it is known as a family destination. There are many other tourist attractions,
not the least of which is the beautiful hinterland with its national parks
and walking tracks.
The Gold Coast is the home to many fine restaurants and a wide range of
accomodation.
Bring your family
If you take Conference Package "A" with
two nights of accommodation on July 7 and 8 at Conrad Jupiters, a second
person may stay in the room without extra charge. There is a nominal charge
for an extra bed in the room, if you're bringing the kids. And we'd love
if you did that!
Conrad Jupiters and its environment
Conrad Jupiters has 450 rooms and is situated at Broadbeach some 8km south
of Surfers Paradise (51kb).
The hotel is situated on the main Gold
Coast highway some 1km inland. Just inside the entrance,
however is the entrance to the monorail
(51kb) which takes you across the highway
with a view of the Gold Coast skyscape (47kb) to the Pan Pacific Hotel
and to the Broadbeach shopping mall.
A short walk from the mall takes you to the main Broadbeach
(44kb) and as you can see the beach
(46kb) seems to go on for ever to the South.
Facilities at Conrad Jupiters
The facilities at Conrad Jupiters are superb. The conference
centre (43kb) is completely self contained and away from the hustle
and bustle of the main hotel areas. All the sessions and morning teas and
lunches at AusWeb96 will be inside the centre. There is a large outdoor
area immediately outside the centre with its own extensive garden.
There are several pools (48kb) and sports
facilities in the hotel and the rooms (53kb)
are of a very high standard.
