Abstract At this moment in time it is a challenge for teachers of web design to present to students, a set of discreet design principles that can apply across the board. The web design environment is immature and in flux; specifications and software editions change almost daily. A lecturer can not know what might be useful to designers in this arena in 1 year, let alone 3 when the students graduate and enter a career. This paper argues for two important design principles that are enduring. The first regards the design of an information structure to underlie a site and the second looks at the necessity to design for an inclusive access. |
