What kinds of structures, then, might be more appropriate than a book to the task of organising the information on a web site?
A structure is a description of a set of relationships at a moment in time. It charts conventions, patterns and expectations. To be useful it has both fixed and temporal qualities, that is, it is reliable and it is open to new usages. Deleuze and Guattari describe a distributed field which they call a lake.
